Darlene Kelly

Darlene obtained her Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Psychology at Johnson C. Smith University, one of the distinct Historically Black Colleges and Universities in Charlotte, North Carolina. Darlene has worked with diverse groups throughout her career of 25 years, including individuals across the lifespan in the Developmentally Disabled Community. Having 20 years of professional experience with the youth population, her patience is unmatched. Darlene provides in-community care with a strong focus on building healthy relationships. Darlene also works closely with youths to promote positive changes in their behavior, as well as life skills development within the comfort of their home environment. Darlene enjoys getting the youths out into the community and looks forward to building a meaningful rapport. Darlene prides herself on working closely with the therapists to develop a unique behavioral intervention plan for each youth that directly targets their individual needs and goals. Darlene supports each youth with strengthening communication skills, coping strategies, and social skills needed for positive interactions. Darlene is known for meeting youth where they are and recognizing their individual strengths while helping them to build self-confidence, independence, and developing the tools needed to work towards long term success.
